Miami Science Museum & Space Transit Planetarium – You will find all kinds of interactive exhibits for older kids here, daily planetarium shows and a wildlife center outside, which has birds, turtles, snakes and other reptiles. There are always different temporary exhibits on display, so you can visit each time you are in Miami and always see something different.

Zoos – Often, zoos are the only place that many people are going to see certain species of animals. You will find some beautiful zoos in Miami that house many interesting and exotic animals, and there are even some opportunities to get up close and personal with some of the animals. Some of the zoos and animal attractions you should see when vacationing in Miami are:

Miami Metrozoo – There are more than 1,200 animals at this zoo, divided into the geographic areas that they come from, including Australia, Asia, Africa and America. Feed giraffes at the feeding station, or rent a Safari Cycle and see the adorable koalas.

Miami Seaquarium – See whale and dolphin shows throughout the day, and take a walk through the park, where you will find manatees, crocodiles, sharks, sea turtles, parrots, deer and many more animals. You can also book the adventure of a lifetime and take a swim with the dolphins.

Jungle Island – Daily animal shows will entertain both young and old at this park, which was once called Parrot Jungle Island. Not only do the animal shows feature colorful parrots, they also include many other animals, including tigers. See all kinds of reptiles in the Serpentarium, which is home to Crocosaurus, the largest crocodile in the New World. Older kids and adults will love going down the 168-foot Hippo Slide.
